Instructions for Dear Family Letter

The dear family letter is very important in the selection process as it takes the place of your personal interview with the employer.

Employers select candidates based on their experience, references, education, language skills and our interview results. The family (employer) will be given three to five applications from which to select. We can only assist them in making the best choice.

This letter is your way of speaking to the family. Make yours stand out from the rest. This is your chance to sell yourself to your employer.

Please consider the following points to include in your letter:

1. Discuss your family, children, life at home.
2. Give special emphasis about your education, special training and skills that you have acquired.
3. Describe your personality, what makes you different from everyone else.
4. Talk about your hobbies, sports, things that you enjoy....what you do for fun.
5. Describe your current employment situation and what you enjoy about your job.
6. Talk about your plans for the future and why you want to come to Canada
